On Thursday 25th February we travelled down to Kent to take a look at a new Hexacopter that has really peaked our interest, the Yuneec Tornado H920. We were invited down by the guys at Drone Ops to take a look at one of the few H920’s in the country. The Kent countryside provided a fantastic backdrop for a day’s flying.
Since we first heard that DJI were to bring out the OSMO handheld 3-axis gimbal we were very interested. Especially because we already own the Inspire 1 and the camera that the Osmo comes with is essentially the exact same camera, so if nothing else we knew the type of quality we could expect and the potential flexibility that this tool would deliver.
What made this superbly enjoyable was the FreeFly’s MIMIC that they also had available for us to use. For those not familiar with what the MIMIC does, watch the video below. In short, it is a motion controller that, through the exact movements of the operator controls the movement of the MōVI M15 gimbal whilst mounted to the ALTA.
